Important Safety Information

ILUMYA™ (tildrakizumab) is a prescription injection medication used to treat adults with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who may benefit from systemic therapy or phototherapy. While it’s a good alternative to alleviate symptoms, the medication may lower your immune system’s ability to protect you from infections. Tell your medical provider immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Muscle aches
  • Excessive sweating
  • Blood in phlegm
  • Warm, red, or painful skin or sores
  • Burning sensation while urinating
  • Diarrhea
  • Unintended weight loss

What is the most important information I should know about ILUMYA™?

Talk with your doctor about your medical history — especially if you have a history with tuberculosis (TB). Your healthcare provider may need to test and treat you for TB prior to starting treatment. In addition, tell your doctor about all medications you’re currently taking — regardless of whether they’re prescription, over-the-counter, vitamins, or herbal supplements — as they may cause harmful reactions when mixed with ILUMYA™. There are over 100 medications that are known to interact with ILUMYA™. Some of the most common ones include:

  • Actemra
  • Amoxicillin
  • Arixtra
  • Cetirizine
  • Cosentyx
  • Diazepam
  • Fluocinonide
  • Humira
  • Kymriah
  • Marplan
  • Melatonin
  • Methotrexate
  • Omeprazole
  • Otezla
  • Prolia
  • Restasis
  • Symdeko
  • Taltz
  • Tremfya
  • Venlafaxine

In addition, avoid receiving live vaccines during treatment. Tell your doctor if you’ve recently had one or if you have one already scheduled.

It is unknown whether ILUMYA™ could harm an unborn baby. Talk to your doctor about your options if you’re pregnant or if you’re planning on becoming pregnant. It is also unknown if ILUMYA™ can pass to a baby via breast milk. Therefore, discuss feeding options for your child if you’re going to start treatment with ILUMYA™.

Side Effects of ILUMYA™

As with any prescription medication, ILUMYA™ carries the risk of side effects. The most common ones include:

  • Reactions at the site where the injection was administered
  • Upper respiratory infections
  • Diarrhea

Symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection include congestion, sore throat, runny nose, cough, fatigue, and body aches. Some patients may also experience a mild fever. In rare cases, patients may experience more serious side effects. Seek emergency medical care immediately if you experience any of the following:

  • Bleeding
  • Itching
  • Bruising
  • Swelling
  • Inflammation

Tell your doctor if you experience any negative side effects. You are also encouraged to report such side effects to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) by visiting, or by calling 1-800-FDA-1088.


ILUMYA™ is used to treat adult patients with plaque psoriasis. The recommended dose is 100mg per injection. The frequency of injections will vary between four and twelve weeks.
